macOS 14+ universal native menu-bar app

Harbor

See every localhost server from your menu bar. Harbor detects the framework behind each port, shows live CPU, memory, uptime, and energy impact, then gives you one-click actions when a port needs attention.

Universal native menu-bar app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Harbor ships as a signed, notarized DMG for macOS 14+.

Feature overview

Built for the local dev loop.

Every listening port

See localhost listeners across IPv4 and IPv6 without running lsof or hunting through terminal tabs.

Framework detection

Identify common dev stacks such as Next.js, Vite, Rails, Django, Postgres, and more from the process behind each port.

Live vitals

Track uptime, CPU, memory, and a quick energy badge so noisy servers stand out before they slow your machine down.

One-click actions

Open the app in your browser, jump to the owning terminal, kill one process, or clear the whole local stack with Kill All.

Harbor Pro

Go further on the ports you're already watching.

Tunnel creation

Start a one-click ngrok tunnel on any local port to share a dev server, right from the row you're already looking at.

Service restart

Restart Docker containers, Homebrew services, and launchctl-managed daemons with the same kill-grade confirmation Harbor already uses.

Extended live vitals window

See a longer in-session CPU and memory trend window in the detail inspector while Harbor keeps running.

Trust model

Local-first by design.

Non-sandboxed for a reason. Harbor needs to inspect and signal your own local processes to map ports and terminate runaway servers. The app ships outside the Mac App Store as a Developer ID-signed, notarized download.

No telemetry. Harbor does not collect analytics or send process, port, project, or command data to a service. Inspection happens on your Mac.

Verifiable downloads. The release DMG is paired with a SHA256 checksum so you can verify the asset you installed.

Changelog

Current release notes.

Unreleased

  • M0-M2 beta lane implemented: native port enumeration, lsof fallback, process vitals, framework detection, panel shell, row actions, browser open, kill and Kill All.
  • Release preflight now validates universal Release builds, DMG creation, and SHA256 checksum generation.
  • Production release is gated on manual GUI QA, Developer ID signing, notarization, Sparkle update validation, and release candidate dogfooding.
